Estimating Alcohol Content


The percentage of alcohol by volume in your finished beer can be estimated by dividing the difference in original and final specific gravities by .75. The actual amount of alcohol may differ from this depending on the ingredients and process used in making the beer. The chart below lists the specific gravity difference for each percentage point of alcohol content.
